The Adam Project - Movie Review

The Adam Project: Directed by Shawn Levy

SYNOPSIS: After accidentally crash-landing in 2022, time-traveling fighter pilot Adam Reed teams up with his 12-year-old self on a mission to save the future.

The Adam Project left me an absolute emotional wreck. This is a film that has a lot of ambition and scale when it comes to story, but hidden with in that grand scale is a really nice and intimate story about a father and his son and the grief that comes with a relationship done too soon. The chemistry between Ryan Reynold, Mark Ruffalo and Walker Scobell is fantastic and the emotion in the end really worked in the grand scheme. The other thing that is awesome is the fresh take on the sci-fi genre. While not pushing the boundaries completely, it had its own identity and never felt like a rehash of another film. In the end I really enjoyed The Adam Project. The father/son dynamic is fantastic and heart wrenching. The performances are pretty good, the new sci-fi twist is fresh and not forced and the emotion dominates. The ending will be in my mind for a long time.
